Description:
Position Title: Transport Manager
Location: Rolle, Switzerland
Key Responsibilities:
We currently have an opportunity for a Transport Manager to join our European Headquarters in Rolle, Switzerland. The Transport Manager will take responsibility for managing commercial transport for Nalco across our EAME region (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Management of a wide and diverse supplier base across the region
- Ability to support multi-modal transport (Road, Sea, bulk, parcel and dedicated shipments)
- Collaboration with the EAME Logistic Director and the Supply Chain team to drive best practice
- Management of carrier selection and tender process
- Negotiation and administration of central supplier contracts
- Cost and variance analysis
- Dashboard follow-up and continuous improvement
- Commercial support to the business with customer bids and tenders
- Budgeting and forecasting of spend and usage
- Regular auditing to ensure distribution network optimisation
Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications required are:
- Degree level qualification in a supply chain discipline, or equivalent experience
The desired candidate will have professional experience to include:
- Previous experience within a supply chain or logistics management function, preferably with international exposure
- Chemical industry / Hazard consignment experience beneficial
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience reporting and analysing data.
- Experience using SAP, Microsoft Excel and Word
- Fluent English, knowledge of other European languages preferred
